CENELEC发布有助于确定计算机显示器功耗的新标准

欧洲电工标准化委员会(CENELEC)最新通过的EN IEC 62087-7:2019“音频、视频以及相关设备——功耗测量方法——第7部分:计算机显示”这项标准规定了如何确定计算机显示器的功耗。该项标准是EN IEC 62087系列标准中最新批准的部分,对音频、视频和相关设备的功耗测量作出了规定。

EN IEC的第7部分特别涵盖了由数字输入连接的计算机显示器,如DisplayPort、HDMI、DVI或模拟VGA输入:该项标准中描述的测试方法适用于任何尺寸的计算机显示器。 根据该标准的定义,计算机显示器指的是用于显示来自计算机的视频信号的显示器,不包括电视调谐器。这些视频信号由在计算机内运行的软件程序产生,由静态图像和动态图像组成。因此,该标准规定了使用静态模式、动态视频和以Web为基础的视频的测试步骤,还定义了与测量功耗相关的各种操作模式。

New CENELEC Standard: to help determine the power consumption of computer monitors

Newly adopted EN IEC 62087-7:2019 ‘Audio, video, and related equipment - Methods of measurement for power consumption - Part 7: Computer monitors’ specifies how to determine the power consumption of computer monitors. It is the most recently approved part of EN IEC 62087, a series of standards regulating the power consumption of audio, video and related equipment.

In particular, part 7 of EN IEC covers computer monitors connected by digital inputs such as DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI, or by analogue VGA input: the test methods described in this document can be applied to computer monitors of any size. The standard’s definition of a computer monitor is a display device that does not include a TV tuner and is intended to be used to display the video signals from a computer. These video signals are produced from software programs that are operating within the computer and can consist of static and moving images. Therefore, the text of the standard specifies test procedures using static patterns, dynamic video and web-based video. The various modes of operation that are relevant for measuring power consumption are also defined.

EN IEC 62087:7 does not apply to network- and wirelessly connected computer monitors. Computer monitors that include touch screen functionality are included in the scope, but it is still limited to computer monitors that are powered from a main power source other than a battery.

Together with other parts of EN IEC 62087, this new international standard is likely to be referenced by a future Harmonised Standard (hEN) that will be developed to give presumption of conformity to new Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Regulations, which will both repeal the Television Regulations in force (i.e. Regulation EC 642/2009 and Regulation (EU) 1062/2010), and which are intended to come into force in 2021. Since the new Regulation will apply to both televisions and other monitors, it was important to have test methods, not only for televisions, but also for computer monitors; EN IEC 62087-7:2019 is closing that gap.

EN IEC 62087 was adopted by CLC/TC 100X ‘Audio, video and multimedia systems and equipment and related sub-systems’, whose Secretariat is held by CEB-BEC, the Belgian Electrotechnical Committee.
